From 1990 to 2000 it went up 1150 %. What was the change from 2000 until now? Advice on how to do it or where to start would be awesome.

Down -56%. I remember it well. NASDAQ 5300 in 2000, today its right at 2000. Gold from 1971 is up 3200%. The NASDAQ is up 1700% since it was created in 1971. Gold has outperformed all assets since we went off the gold standard in 1971. Gold would be even with the NASDAQ if it fell to $630 an ounce. Gold would be even with the DOW and the S &P 500 if it were to fall to $420 an ounce. Gold has outperformed ALL asset classes since we went off the gold standard. No exceptions.

Http:/ / finance.yahoo.com/ echarts?s= %5EIXIC#chart2:symbol= ^ixic;range= 20000115,20100115;indicator= volume;charttype= line;crosshair= on;ohlcvalues= 0;logscale= on;source= undefined The NASDAQ index was at 4,235 on theis date in 2000, and on Friday it closed at 1,985, so over that period it is down 53%. But you need to understand that in context; since 1975, the NASDAQ is up 2,200%...it is a naturally-more-volaatile index than the Dow, which is up almost as much over the same period, but which is far less volatile. If you want to make lots & lots & lots of money without really paying much attention, invest regular amounts of money in a basket of stocks and stop watching/ listening to the financial news on the TV or radio!
